Women Took The Lead In Fighting Bengaluru Railway Division's Fight Against Covid |
Dr Prabhavathy Gajalakshmi, additional chief medical superintendent (admin) as the in-charge of Covid treatment in DRH has shown utmost dedication towards work despite her husband testing positive for Covid and continues to do so. She has also conducted regular classes in the health unit of Railway Hospital/Cantonment for railway employees and their dependents regarding ‘Covid appropriate behaviour’.
Dr B R Viswanath Kumar of the Railway Hospital has played a key role along with additional divisional railway manager Kusuma Hariprasad in the ‘vaccination drive’ for railway employees and their dependents, despite both his parents having tested positive for Covid. His timely coordination with the state government and BBMP officials merits immense appreciation. Because of his tireless efforts, many railway employees and their dependents have been vaccinated.
Jayasheelan, lab superintendent played a major role with his relentless service at DRH in conducting Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) and RTPCR test for many railway employees and their dependents, despite his daughter testing positive for Covid and admitted to a hospital.
Though there is a shortage of hands in DRH since three doctors are on child care leave and services of one doctor is being shared between Bengaluru and Mysuru, this was being managed efficiently under the guidance of Kusuma Hariprasad, and commendable work is rendered to attend Covid patients and vaccination drive. The list of such Covid warriors, who have rendered tireless continuous services for Covid patients is plenty.
The hospital also lost one of its dedicated Covid warriors Kalaivani M, 56, senior nursing matron as she succumbed to the fight against Covid. Ashok Kumar Verma, divisional railway manager, lauded the efforts of the medical team in the hours of crisis.
