38th Oxygen Express rolls into ICD, Whitefield

Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Whitefield, Bengaluru on June 17 received the 38th Oxygen Express. The train that reached ICD at 8.40pm had started from Rourkela, Odisha at 4.51pm on June 16 and carried 77.39 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) in four cryogenic containers. Indian Railways has so far run 443 oxygen expresses and transported more than 32,000 tonnes of LMO in 1830 tankers all over the country and bring relief to 15 states in their fight against Covid19.

So far, Karnataka as of June 17 has received 4,226.2 tonnes of LMO by rail. 

Incidentally, the 35th Oxygen Express had reached ICD at 9.10am on June 15. It had started from Kanalus, Jamnagar, Gujarat at 5.09pm on June 13 and had carried 98.09 tonnes LMO in 6 cryogenic containers.
