MRT-115 Opens Round Table Kitchen For Covid Patients In Isolation

Mangalore Round Table 115 has taken the lead to start the Round Table India Kitchen in this coastal city.  Round Table is a non-political and non-sectarian organization of young men in the age group of 18 and 40. It is an international movement created to promote service through Fellowship and is spread across 52 countries consisting of around 35,000 Tablers.

Vinay Fernandes, chairman of Mangalore Round Table on the above initiative said, ““In order to help the community that we are a part of this lockdown period which has been implemented to break the chain of the spread of Covid -19 pandemic, MRT-115 and MLC-82 in collaboration with their respective parent organization is bringing to Mangalore the Round Table India Kitchen.” MRT-115 is a part of Round Table India (RTI).

Hunger Helpline For Covid19 Positive Patients In Isolation

“We will deliver home-cooked food to the homes of people and or families who are Covid-19 positive and have to isolate themselves in order to stop the spread of the virus,” Vinay Fernandes said. Anybody who desires to avail of this facility may call 9108771223 and confirm their order by 10am for lunch and by 6pm for dinner. Lunch orders will be delivered by 1pm and dinner order by 7.30 pm.

Those placing orders will have to send their Covid19 positive report by WhatsApp in order to authenticate their Covid19 status. The food and delivery service will be provided free of charge. The whole idea behind the initiative is to ensure people stay at home and stay safe. Families affected by the pandemic and forced into isolation are at a disadvantage and this is a small endeavour on part of MRT-115 and MLC-82 to help them, Vinay says.

Mangalore Ladies Circle - 82 (MLC-82) is part of Ladies Circle India. They are the wives of Tablers who call themselves Circlers. They have their own fundraisers and projects apart from collaborating with the MRT. In the past MRT-115 & MLC-82 have contributed to the school fees for children, provided grocery kits to the needy. During the recent lockdown, they have built classrooms and toilet blocks in government schools.
