KVG Bank bags Awards for APY enrollment
Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVGB) sponsored by Canara Bank Bank has bagged five top Awards (Lead to Leap, APY Makers of Excellence, Game Changers, Leadership Capital and Amazing Achievers) under various campaigns held for enrollment of Atal Pension Yojana (APY) from Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).

P Gopi Krishna, chairman, Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank said the Bank firmly believes that delivery of financial services at an affordable cost to the vast sections of the disadvantaged and low-income groups is a national priority. The Bank has done exceedingly well in that area and is playing a pivotal role in the implementation of social security schemes like Atal Pension Yojana (APY), Prime Minister Jeevan Jyothi Bhima Yojana (PMJJBY), and Prime Minister Suraksha Bhima Yojana (PMSBY).
During the last financial year 2020-2021, the Bank enrolled 78129 policies under PMJJBY, 94658 policies under PMSBY and 68961 accounts under APY. Since the introduction of these schemes, the Bank cumulatively has enrolled 5141524 policies under PMJJBY, 1189321 policies under PMSBY and 206214 accounts under APY. The Bank has settled 3809 claims (Rs 76.18 crore) under PMJJBY and 706 claims under PMSBY (Rs 13 crore). This has helped poor families lead their lives in the event of the sudden death of the caretaker, Gopi Krishna said.
Expressing happiness at receiving the awards, Gopi Krishna said the Award is recognition to the Bank and its committed workforce of more than 3500. Staff members are actively participating in implementing these schemes by involving BC/ND agents, the chairman said.
