Karnataka receives 15 & 16th O2 Express with 241.91 tonnes LMO

Indian Railways that is at the forefront of delivering liquid medical oxygen (LMO) to states across India continued the same in delivering the 15th Oxygen Express to Karnataka. This special train reached Inland Container Depot (ICD), Whitefield, at Bengaluru at 10.35pm on May 27. It had started from Tatanagar, Jharkhand at 6.25pm on May 26. Zonal railway authorities set up a special 'Green Corridor' for this train that carried 120 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen in six cryogenic containers.

So far, Karnataka has received 1772.8 tonnes of LMO by rail. Indian Railways has so far operated 284 oxygen expresses and transported more than 18,980 tonnes of LMO in 1141 tankers to all over India to assist the state governments in their fight against Covid19. Karnataka in fact had received the 13th and 14th 'O2 Specials' on May 26 to go with two that authorities of Bengaluru division of Hubballi headquartered South Western Railway received at the ICD a day before. 

16th O2 EXPRESS TOO REACHES ICD

ICD on May 28 also received the 16th Oxygen Express. This special train reached Karnataka from Rourkela, Odisha at 3.30pm carrying 121.91 tonnes of LMO in six cryogenic containers. Karnataka with this has received 1894.71 MT of LMO by Rail to date. Indian Railways has so far run 289 Oxygen Expresses and transported more than 19,408 Metric Tonnes of LMO in 1162 tankers all over the country to assist state governments in their fight against Covid19.

16th Oxygen Express That Reached ICD, Bengaluru
15 STATES CONNECTED THUS FAR

On mission mode, till now oxygen expresses have offloaded LMO in around 39 cities/towns in 15 states across India namely Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Agra in Uttar Pradesh, Sagar, Jabalpur, Katni, and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, Nagpur, Nashik, Pune, Mumbai & Solapur in Maharashtra, Hyderabad in Telangana, Faridabad & Gurugram in Haryana, Tuglakabad, Delhi Cantt & Okhla in Delhi, Kota & Kanakpara in Rajasthan.

In South, these trains have touched based in Bengaluru in Karnataka, Dehradun in Uttarakhand, Nellore, Guntur, Tadipatri & Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Ernakulam in Kerala, Tiruvallur, Chennai, Tuticorin, Coimbatore & Madurai in Tamil Nadu, Bhatinda & Phillaur in Punjab, Kamrup in Assam and Ranchi in Jharkhand. Oxygen Expresses offloaded LMO at 41 stations in these 39 cities/towns. So far, 289 O2 Expresses have completed their journey so far.
