SWR Runs 297 Special Trains; Achieves 100 % Punctuality
Hubballi headquartered South Western Railway (SWR) presently is running 297 special trains to facilitate travelling needs of people. All express special trains which are operational in SWR have achieved the highest ever punctuality, that is, 100% as on April 11, in the second week of financial year 2021-22. All express special trains of SWR have run as per their schedule and none lost punctuality.
This achievement has been possible due to close coordination between all the departments of SWR and effective and timely monitoring of the train operations at zonal and divisional level. Mr Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SWR congratulated the divisional teams headed by DRM Hubballi Mr Aravind Malkhede, DRM Mysuru Mr Rahul Agarwal, and DRM Bengaluru Mr Ashok Kumar Verma and SWR operations department led by Mr Hari Shankar Verma, Principal Chief Operations Manager at the Zonal Level, for their combined effort and efficiency.
SWR has already surpassed railway ministry's target of punctuality which was set at 88% during the financial year 2020-21 and achieved the distinction of 4th position also among All India zonal railways punctuality position way back from the 16th position out of 17 zonal railways almost a year ago.
SWR requested all passengers to adhere strictly to Covid -19 norms - wear mask, sanitize their hands frequently and maintain social distancing. An earnest cooperation is requested from all in the fight against Covid19, Mr Mallya stressed.
